K118
A Leader for Grain and Silage Yields
2550 CHU
Western Canadian Rating: 2400 CHU

Hybrid Features

  • Consistent yield performance across very different growing seasons
  • Excellent test weight and grain quality
  • A “Silage Plus” hybrid with top energy yields per acre and low ADF/NDF
  • Exceptional late season plant health
  • Excellent spring vigour
Positioning/Management

WLook for excellent yields of high test weight grain and season long plant health. Excellent silage yields and quality in early to medium maturity areas. A hybrid with unique upright leaf characteristics and exceptional late season plant intactness. K118 can exhibit some tassel wrapping (buggy whipping) at flowering which the plant grows out of causing no harm to yield performance. Although physiological maturity is timely the flint-dent genetics in the background of this hybrid result in an extended drydown period. Adapts well to all soil types - including heavy clay.
On lighter soils, keep populations to lower end of recommendation.
